This is what was read by Carlo's mother last Saturday, at his Memorial Mass;
Yesterday was his birthday:
It's called: The death of a son – roughly translated from the Spanish:
Once upon a time, there was a mother with large ears, large eyes, long eyelashes and a mousey nose; and she gave birth to a son, just like her, with large ears, large eyes, long eyelashes and a mousey nose – and she named him CARLOS ANDRES.
The son was very proud of his ears and all he wanted to do was fly.
Until one day when God heard his voice and enabled him to fly; only he flew so high that he reached the heavens.
Once God saw how special he was, he had to keep him there and didn’t let him return.
This son's death has left great emptiness in our lives and existence, but we are comforted by the knowledge of his being in heaven; the place we all hope to reach one day. So we can relive all the special moments we had together
