Community Homes

During the last decade we have noticed that more and more people with
challenges are being integrated into community life. In the past disabled
people were put in closed institutions far from normal communities,
sometimes hundreds of them together in the same institution. Today,
many institutions are being established amongst a normal community in
towns and villages. In these frameworks no more than 20 people live
together, those with higher capabilities are able to work and earn a
living and live independently in a family home in a regular housing
scheme in town or in a village, which enables them to participate in
activities during their free time. Their life cycle is within and integrated
in a normal community.

Ahada has decided to undertake ways and means to achieve this type of
housing for its parents children, to support and help them to achieve an
ideal dream of integrating their children into a normal community. We
will utilize our connections with those who have started this type of
housing, Government officials and offices, different foundations for
establishing housing for the challenged person in towns and villages.
We will organize the parents in groups according to the type of
disability and age that their children have, we will put them in contact
with the factors who are dealing with this problem in the community and
in different areas of the country. We will organize the parents in groups
according to the age of their children. Study groups for the parents to
teach them their legal rights, to strengthen them and show them how a
strong, well organized parents group, which is in touch with all the
factors dealing with this subject can bring about a change in policy and
eventually achieve the goal of establishing family homes for the
challenged in the area where the parents live.

We estimate that working correctly, within three years, we can achieve
our goal of establishing family homes in every area where we have
established a group of parents.

Budget required for this activity for each parents group: $10.000 a year.
